Hungry for more Harry Potter?

Looking for more adventures at Hogwarts? Then look no further than the fan fiction trilogy created by G. Norman Lippert. Based upon the characters and worlds of J. K. Rowling, this trilogy tells the story of Harry Potter’s son James, and his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first installment “James Potter and the Hall of Elder’s Crossing“. This first book is followed by two others, “James Potter and the curse of the gatekeeper” and the final book “James Potter and the vault of destinies“. All are available as free ebooks (epub format for adobe reader/ibooks/ereaders and mobi format to be read on Kindle devices) on the website link here:

As Mr Lippert explains on his website in the section “the story of the story” – it is no easy task to write a work like this. He has had his fair share of Harry Potter fans that have been quick to comment on, and criticise the books, but of all the fan fiction that has been written these books are the most successful with over 1 million downloads of book 1.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and loved immersing myself back into the delights of school life at Hogwarts. When reading the book I felt an ever increasing sense of doom as another mysterious plot unfolded around James and his friends….However it is the second book in the trilogy where the author really transported me back to the magical world of J.K. Rowling’s writing. Here we have a deeply satisfying story with many twists and turns in the plot. Many of the characters from the original Harry Potter series reappear again as villains and heroes. It is not essential to have read all the original books but does make for a very familiar and pleasurable reading experience.

  1. I like the idea of a continuation, BUT, Harry Potter and all that follows or preceeds it NEEDS to be a JK Rowling product. I, as a writer, could never deal with a world someone else invented. Create your own characters, writers! It’s so much more quenching!

    1. Yes I agree as having read these I can see how JKR could easily have started a new series based on the next generation or a set of prequels about the establishment of Hogwarts and the founders (as they did with Star Wars stories/films). It is her right as an author to start/stop writing any particular series as she sees fit however…But in the meantime I will add these to my arsenal of books for reluctant boy readers that loved the boy who lived. I think this writer is talented so it will be interesting to see how his new original fiction fares, I wish him every success!

      1. Definitely. Let’s see this as a *training activity* for him 🙂

I firmly believe JKR has written or will write a prequel/sequel to Harry Potter. However, I see her releasing it many years from now or maybe it will go unpublished and will resurface 50 years from now. Who knows. I just think she’s too close to HP to let him go, yet she wants to develop new narratives. Which is only fair.
